Background
Ghana Shipping & Travel Agencies (GSTA) are a private limited liability company whose core business is door-to-door shipping primarily between Ghana and the UK. In addition, they offer a range of extended services targetted at Africans living in the UK which include mail order and imports, ticket sales, airport pick-ups and money transfers.
With such a diverse range of services, GSTA approached IrisCreative with a view to developing an online identity which would enable them to promote themselves effectively to their target audience.
Solution
IrisCreative worked closely with GSTA to develop a website that pulled all the services available under one umbrella brand.
Having inheritted a vibrant orange from GSTA's existing logo we decided early on to use this as an accent colour for the site, basing the majority of the colour palette around tones of blue to suggest professionalism and cool the overall effect.
The information was divided into sections covering the key areas of the business which we represented with simple photographic imagery. Important information, such as links to the 'Free quote' page and telephone and email contact information were included in the top right corner of every page so that they were immediately visible regardless of screen size or resolution.
The end result
After careful development and discussion with GSTA, IrisCreative produced a clear, easy to use and visually attractive website that enables GSTA's potential customers to find the information they need quickly and easily.
The site offers a flexible platform for ongoing development as GSTA's business grows into the future, as it is built using semantically correct HTML and styled entirely using Cascading Stylesheets (CSS). This means that specific styling can be developed for viewers who may be using mobile phones to access the website, the site design can be easily changed without affecting the content and accessibility requirements can be accommodated. In addition, search engines find it very easy to index and catalogue the information on the website.
